This marks a red letter day in my personal history. Seriously, since I sent my very first email I never thought this day would come. I have cleared my inbox of all debris. Yes folks I officially have ZERO messages in my inbox. I have come close before but not in nearly two decades have I had this; an empty bucket of absolute joyous nothingness. I expect it to last about 5 minutes and that coming from the knowledge that it is 10:06pm when authoring this.
One can view this two ways I believe. First, I have not worked hard enough and thus have nothing to read, do, or reply to. Alternately, one could comment that I have actually followed up on everything that need following up with at this current moment in time and are thus done. I assure you, at least for today, it be the latter. I took a bus to NYC today and had no fewer than 8 calls, replied to half a dozen requests for new projects, and sent a ton of emails shoring up loose ends and addressing current project issues. So, that being said, damnit it is time for a glass of wine and, well, maybe even some Family Guy on Hulu. Tomorrow I look forward to a chock full inbox of new things to occupy my time.
I can say this for sure. Having climbed the mountain and seen the view from the top, tomorrow’s climb, and every climb thereafter, seems far more accessible than it used to. [exhale]
